You'll notice I'm working my way out from the center here. There is usually a pattern to tightening and un-tightening cylinder head nuts. And the general thing is to work your way out from the middle because that just does it in such a way that the minimum stress, the minimum flexing is applied to the head as it comes off, it just comes off very gradually then.
